Freedom not Fear (fnf), an annual self-organised conference on privacy and digital rights, provided us the chance to share our adventures in the European labyrinth of commissions, institutes, bodies, etc. Here's the abstract regarding our 'hot potato' session ;)
"FediVariety was born at FnF 2023. At last year's FnF, we were captivated by Wojciech Wiewiórowski's inspiring keynote about EDPS’s so-called ‘failure’ to get Fediverse integrated in the EU administration. This sparked the formation of our team, FediVariety, bringing together individual activists who shared a common vision on open-source solutions in public communication. Since then, we've embarked on an ambitious research project, delving into the challenges and opportunities of integrating the Fediverse into European administration. We're currently focused on unraveling the complexities of the so-called 'hot potato' situations, aiming to shed light on the potential pathways and obstacles ahead.
